incredibly sweet and kind article about the end of life care for nuns living in a convent up in rochester.
they make the excellent point that essentially people need to be less afraid of death -- and that not having a super expensive treatment can actually make things less terrible as a lot of medical procedures make you feel worse even if they do give you a week or two extra of life.
i think it is true that dying is probably much nicer at home surrounded by loved ones than in a big impersonal hospital.
